Technical Metallurgist

Reports to - Production Manager or Technical Manager
 

Objective - To monitor and evaluate plant operation efficiency and equipment and personnel performance and undertake research and development projects aimed at improving plant processes and production output.

 
Key Accountabilities
 
o         Monitor, investigate and analyse plant technical performance (chemical process and equipment) for continuous improvement and maximum operation efficiency
o         Conduct research and development initiatives (including involvement in projects, to seek more efficient and/or cost effective methods and means to produce a quality product.)
o         Develop training documentation and train refinery operations personnel in relevant technical matters
o         Personnel development
o         Maintain appropriate SHEQ / ISO / Anglo Safety Way standards within area of operation.
 
Requirements:
o         4-year B. degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
o         2 Years experience in a similar position and work environment and
o         1 Year supervisory experience

o         Metallurgical accounting experience advantageous
