SENIOR METALLURGIST / METALLURGIST
Southern Africa
Purpose
The primary purpose of the above role is to assist with existing plant /process optimization, technical support for the proposed plant expansions and commissioning of expansion projects. It will be required to establish, and review operation practices, methodology and technical applications to achieve safe, low cost and efficient plant operations.
Main Responsibilities
o Maintains and assists with health, safety & environmental standards
o Ensures plant efficiency and optimization
o Care and utilization of physical assets
o Metallurgical project management
o Cost control of major consumables
o Continuous improvement
o Metallurgical Planning & accounting
o Optimizing process control systems
Requirements
o B.Eng/B.Sc degree/B.Tech / Diploma in Minerals Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, Process Engineering or equivalent.
o Minimum 10yrs post qualification metallurgical experience in a process environment, preferable appropriate work related experience specific related to ion exchange and ore sorting aspects
o Appropriate working experience with Plant control, Metallurgical Planning and Accounting systems.
o Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
o Excellent computer literacy
o Code 08 driving license
