Resident Engineer (Barrage) - Asia

CA Global: Engineering and Construction (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of a Resident Engineer (Barrage). The project will be based in South Asia

Duties and Responsibilities

To contribute its expertise for a successful implementation of the project.

Review all relevant documents available in respect of gates & gearing and electrical installations of Barrage.

Organize, coordinate and carry out a detailed inspection of all barrage gates as well as the head regulator gates for off-taking canal.

Review designs including drawings, specifications and costs for all remedial measures required for gate rehabilitation.

Review designs including drawings, specifications and costs for the motorization of all gates.

Coordinate and supervise carrying out of all mechanical and electrical aspects of the rehabilitation works including quality control and compliance with the specifications.

Draft relevant portions of the Operational Manual for Barrage with emphasis on operation and maintenance of the gate and the associated hoisting equipment.

Quality, professionalism, technical innovation and excellence,

Project delivery to meet client’s Terms of Reference (TOR),

Reporting to meet project and internal requirements

Requirements:

B.Sc. E or M Eng or equivalent degree/higher degree from accredited university/college,

General / Overall experience 15 Years and Minimum 10 years of practical experience in Barrages / Hydraulic Structures

Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment,

Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment

Implementation/ conducts supervision of Barrages / hydraulic structures

Ability to deliver project terms of reference (TOR) without over servicing,

Ability to meet project deadlines,

Maintain a consistent high quality of work
