The incumbent will report to the General Manager Konkola North Copper Mine and be responsible for the Finance and Administration function. In addition, he will have a matrix reporting relationship to the Group Financial Manager of the Corporation.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
o        Implementation/maintenance of appropriate systems of internal control;
o        Overseeing the annual budgeting process of the three-year business plan and the life of mine financial plan.
o        Oversee the Monthly, interim and year end reporting for the mine;
o        Oversee the payroll function;
o        Tax Compliance, in all respects (direct and Indirect taxes)
o        Insurance and Financial Risk Assessment
o        Attend financial report back meetings with the General Manager.
o        Responsible for financial management, cashflow management and asset control for the mine.
o        Warehouse/inventory control
o        Supply chain management, including procurement
o        Oversee the administration of the performance management incentive scheme.
o        Co-ordinate and plan internal and external audits
o        Ensure effective subordinate development through updated training and development interventions for staff members;
o        General administration, i.e. contracts.
 
QUALIFICATiON AND EXPERIENCE
o        B. Comm. Honours Degree in Financial and/or Management Accounting
o        Minimum of 8 years in a financial/management accounting environment in a mining industry;
o        A professional qualification e.g. CA or CIMA Qualification will be a distinct advantage;
o        Experience in Mining Tax;
o        Experience of Integrated Database Systems (e.g. Sun Systems) and advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office; 
o        A thorough business understanding will be a prerequisite.
o        Must have high level of integrity.
o        Experience as an expatriate in Africa

Employment Conditions
 
·         The position will be a full time position subject to one calendar month’s notice by either party.
·         The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit.
·         The incumbent will be based in Zambia, accommodation as provided below.
 
SALARY, BENEFITS AND REIMBURSEMENTS
 
·         An attractive remuneration package commensurate with the seniority of the position will be offered supplemented by a short and long term performance based incentive schemes.
·         The Salary will be net and free and clear of all taxes or statutory deductions and payable in United States Dollars.
·         Salary will be paid monthly to the Employee’s bank account (as designated by the Employee), or as otherwise agreed between the parties.
·         The Employee shall be entitled to the following additional benefits in accordance with the Employer’s General Terms and Conditions of Employment :
o        furnished housing accommodation in Chingola or Chililebombwe at the discretion of the company, together with all utility expenses and wages of workers at such household, up to a maximum limit of US$500 per month;
o        a company vehicle is available in accordance with the Company vehicle policy.
o        a cell phone with a limit to be agreed
o        life insurance cover for the Employee only paid for by the Employer. Death cover is equal to 1 x annual net salary. Claims are conditional upon acceptance by the insurer. Premiums will be paid by the Employer. 
o        personal accident cover for the Employee only paid for by the Employer. Accidental death cover is equal to 2x annual net salary; Claims are conditional upon acceptance by the insurer. Premiums will be paid by the Employer.
o        a medical aid scheme with BUPA Medical Aid which includes evacuation insurance, for the Employee and his/her registered dependents (who will also reside in Zambia with the incumbent). The Employer will not pay for any other medical aid.
o        The salary will be subject to review on an annual basis in June for implementation on 1 July.
o        The employee shall be eligible for participation in the performance management scheme. 
o        The Employer will reimburse the Employee for any approved expenses substantiated via an expense claim which is in compliance with the Employer’s Expense Policy at the time incurred or was approved by the Manager in writing prior to being incurred.
o        Travel and accommodation vouchers to allow Employee return trips to home country (2x return tickets per family member or 3x on a single status).
