CA Global: Power and Energy (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of a Plant General Manager (Coal-Fired Power Plant / Operations & Maintenance) the position is based in Morocco.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BSc. in engineering from an accredited university
  • Must be FLUENT in French and English
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
  • Proven leadership skills and record of success in the operation of large coal-fired power plants
  • Successful completion of leadership / managerial courses
  • Power Plant Operations Certificate or equivalent or MBA
  • Minimum 6 years professional experience in a power generation plant
  • 15 years highly effective leadership and managerial experience of multi-cultural teams
  • Technical experience applicable to a large coal burning power plant
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience with global asset management system such as SAP
  • Experience with performance asset management system such as PI
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize activities
  • Manage workload and priorities to ensure service delivery to business
  • Effective communication & analytical skills with ability to influence at all levels across the organisation
  • Ability to win and build credibility
  • Proven internal consultancy skills and experience
  • Effective planning and organisational skills
  • High level of commercial awareness and numerical ability
  • Experience of managing change

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Develop long term strategy and operating plans to fulfill obligations in all agreements.
  • Develop annual operating plans, goals and objectives for Presentation to Management Committee for approval.
  • Liaise with all departments and functions
  • Responsible for regulatory integrity governing Finance, Procurement and Purchasing
  • Responsible for compliance with Labor Relations and administration of Code of Work by Moroccan labor law
  • Execute effectively all relevant agreements such as Operations and Maintenance, Purchase Power, Coal Unloading and Storage.
  • Responsible for complying and supporting HR programs and managing the human potential of the plant in coordination with the HR manager and team
  • Establish KPI’s required to measure all areas of technical and financial performance.
  • Deliver O&M monthly, quarterly, and annual report in written and verbal communication to Management Committee.
  • Responsible for long term maintenance plan and energy balance plan.
  • Responsible for long term major overhaul plan and execution.
  • Direct effective personal and team coordination and interaction with the relevant corporate functions (e.g. Finance, Legal, Accounting, HR, HSSE, CSR) and the Managing Director
  • Ensure a training plan is active to enable the succession of key responsibilities throughout the organization.
