Mechanical Technical Advisor (Heavy Fuel Oil / HFO) - Tanzania

CA Global: Power and Energy (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of a Mechanical Technical Advisor (Heavy Fuel Oil / HFO) the position is based in Tanzania.

 REQUIREMENTS

• Mechanical Engineering Degree
• Minimum 10 years post graduate professional experience in Power Generation Facilities
• Significant experience with HFO Power Plants is essential
• Actual & verifiable hands on experience in the maintenance of MAN or Wartsila engines (or overall Reciprocating Machine experience)
• Familiar with procedure writing for MAN engines, Auxiliary Systems, Switchyard, BOP, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting skills needed to investigate product issues and determine root cause.
• Good English communication skills (verbal and written)
• International working experience is highly desirable especially in developing countries.
• expereinced in managing third party contractors
• experience in commissioning of power plants
• Expereinced in the preperation of operationg schedules

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• Power Plant trouble shooting, and reporting system's malfunctions
• Provide hands on guidance to Utility or 3rd party mechanics in the conduct of preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Assess the validity of, and resolve mechanical Warranty repairs, in the complete plant.
• Assist the plant management team in the operation and maintenance of the plant.
• Support the day to day operation of the plant.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the plant's operations manuals.
• Ability to identify scope of work as per contract requirements
• Expedient analysis and resolution of all warranty issues
• Entries of warranty return part information into applicable customer.
• Manage 3rd party contractors to conduct warranty repairs.
• Manage expenditures to the approved budget.
