Electrical technicians (Power Generation Plant / HV Generator) - Africa

CA Global: Power and Energy (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of Electrical technicians (Power Generation Plant / HV Generator). The positions will be based in Angola, Niger, cote Di’Ivoire, Mauritania and Morocco

OVERVIEW

Our client is currently recruiting qualified Electrical technicians for French and Portuguese speaking Countries throughout Africa. Fluency in English and French or English and Portuguese will be essential and non negotiable for these opportunities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified Electrician – time served apprenticeship
• minimum Five years experience relating to the power generation
• Extensive HV and generator background
• Result orientated Mindset
• Excellent Task Completion skills– reliable, committed to completing tasks.
• Resilience – persistent, positive and self reliant.
• Accountability – drives outcomes by taking personal responsibility.
• Customer Focus - understands the importance of customer needs, whether internal or external, focuses on responding to them and develops relationships.
• Working together with others – relates to people, engages and builds relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• Ensure that equipment is maintained and operated as per the standard procedures and that the site is operated as per HSE standards.
• Maintain and repair LV/HV switchgear, transformers, alternators, motors & associated control panels. 
• Trouble shooting & detailed fault analysis.
• Ensure maximum plant availability and best possible equipment condition.
• Implement company QHSE policies and ensure that all personnel working with him adhere to the policies.
• Carries out site HSE audits and Accident reporting knowledge.
• Assist in the development of new employees including the provision of site induction.
• Ensure the installation of sites and demobilization is carried out as per Standard.
• Provide a focal point for coordinating initial response to site electrical incidents.
• Places a strong emphasis on health, operational safety and environmental protection.
